What is a shaft collar?

A shaft collar is a cylindrical machine element that is mounted on a shaft, where it enables axial fixation – e.g. as a stop, for bearing positioning or as an end stop.

With clamping with a grub screw, slot or tensioning mechanism, the ring remains reliably in position without damaging the shaft.
